Kelley Deal Photography | the House - We're Unpacked! (mostly..)

After a week of painting, Matt and I finally moved into the new house on Saturday.  We had 4 guys from Trosa (who were incredibly fast and polite - can't say enough good things about them!) and within a couple of hours, our living room was completely full of boxes, our rental house was empty, and we had a box spring that is now for sale because it won't fit up our stairs - old houses, right?

If you've ever lived with me, you might know I am not a slow unpacker.  Boxes everywhere and digging for things stresses me out, and I like to set things up, so... by Sunday night we were about 99% unpacked and settled-in.  Now, we're cleaning-up, kind of getting re-organized, hanging the rest of our artwork and photos, and getting ready to take-on the kitchen.

A couple more in-progress shots along the way :

Our second floor guest bath - I'll find the paint color at some point, but it's the prettiest bright royal blue color that makes us feel like we're at the coast.

Our office / den / where we hang out all the time.  The green couch (which we looooove), we bought at Key City Antiques.  The tanker desk Matt found on craigslist, and the barrel in the corner was a gift from my brother-in-law at our wedding... it formed 1/2 of our altar, is secretly a liquor cabinet, and took him weeks (months, probably) to take apart completely and put back together once he'd cut a door in and refinished the inside.

As we've started hanging photos and artwork, I finally got a few wedding photos printed and framed on the wall.  Some of my favorite photos of all time of my family and my husband (all thanks to the amazing Caroline Fontenot).

Consider this a "before" picture of our back yard.  It needs some love.  Matt's on it.

Another "before" shot.  Georgia loves it... we're not quite as happy yet.
