Features

Nadia & Gunnar | Joshua Tree

Nadia and Gunnar are not only amazing photographers, but also friends of mine that graciously modeled for this shoot in Joshua Tree this spring.  They're gooorgeous and seeing them in all glammed-up in the desert with bright colorful flowers and a stunning gown about did me in.  It was an amazing trip to California, and SoCal's feature was the cherry on top!

Candlelit Ceremony at Doyle’s Vineyard

During the summers here in NC, we have  A LOT of sunlight.  I'm not complaining, but amidst these long and bright days, it was kind of nice to try something a little different.  The focus of this shoot - the ceremony for this elopement - was lit completely by candles.  It was dreamy and warm and one of my favorite shoots in forever, and I was so thrilled when Junebug published my favorite details as inspiration!

Chelsea’s Boho Maternity Shoot

I met Chelsea and her husband on a religious camp, of sorts, in a giant tipi (with no heart) in the winter and instead of whining about how cold it was, Chelsea wore this sheer robe LIKE A CHAMP and then cuddled up with her husband.  Perfect.  I loved that CoutureColorado featured this shoot because it has the perfect vibe for them - natural and organic but super cool.

Allison & Zach

While we were in LA this spring, we woke up early to shoot this styled elopement with Allison and Zach - it was EARLY, but these two rocked everything about it.  The dress fit Allison like it was made for her, and the way she and Zach posed with each other was like halfway between an everyday love and watching two models do their thing.  The details felt natural and effortless, and when Junebug featured it, my first thought was how excited I'd be if someone else saw it and wanted to do something similar.  If you're thinking of a natural elopement, holla at ya girl.

Glenna & Michael

Glenna and Michael had a whirlwind relationship turned engagement - in Paris, no less - and by the time they were in front of my camera, they were dripping with love for each other.  We shot an at home shoot in this awesome loft that felt comfortable and cozy and perfect, and I was thrilled that Popsugar felt the same way!

Krystal & Jarrod

Krystal and Jarrod have been married for about ten years, and cooler than I think I'll ever be.  They're covered in super cool tattoos, have a collection of old cars in a field here in NC, and Krystal can pull off that dress.  When Rock N Roll Bride offered to feature their shoot, it was a total given - a perfect match.

Leah & James

These two have one of those super cool homes that you could spend hours in, just looking around.  They're crafty - like CRAFTSMAN crafty, not craft-store crafty - and invited me to photograph them doing what they love to do.  I'm always so excited when publications see the cool that I see and want to feature shoots like this - it wasn't fancy, but it was so genuine.  Thanks to ISO : ALT for this one!

Patrick’s Proposal

Patrick hired me to photograph his proposal with one of the most elaborately planned series of events I've ever participated in.  He sent me a map with suggestions on where I could hide and his planned route.  He hid both of their families - from out-of-state - to pop out as soon as he popped the question.  It went all as-planned, and I was so amped to be a part of it - almost as excited as I was when How He Asked featured their story.
